The POKER Nite!! - Vijay & Bala's Bachelor Party

Surendra and I have been on our toes the whole week, rather i made Suren run around doing most of the work [ like i always do - smart manager ;) ]... We were both getting ready for our Best Friends Wedding, the much awaited Bachelor Party and the guest list that followed it.

We had our friends coming from everywhere. I was dying to meet Nancy,Simy and Vinitha after ages, and of course some of our friends based out of Chennai who we hadn't met for a very long time.

Theme: POKER NITE

I have always been termed as "Tension Party" when it came to organizing anything as i always wanted everything to go on "PERFECTLY"... I really wanted to bunk work that day, but could only manage half a day off as i had another major event that was planned out at work. The party was scheduled for 7pm but i wanted to be there much before to see to all the arrangements. I met up with Surendra and as always he was walking around with a solid block of ice on his head. We had a quick lunch @ Mc D's and headed to the boat club.

We reached there too early and had to pay the price. The club guys refused to switch the AC on until 6pm :( . So we spent most of our time outside experimenting with the camera and found cooling ourselves in the bargain.

Hareesh, soon enuff walked in through the door with a smug look on his face. He was in charge of helping me decide on the (GOOD) games. I realized soon enough, that the reason behind his smug look was an old PLAYBOY game book in his hand. We dropped everything just to run our eyes through it. Suren decided to stay away from these activities, as always!! After zero'in on some "GOOD" games we decided to get ready for the party.

I belong to a family that had two generations in the Army, so by default being on time has always been my thing. People were expected at 7pm, but as none showed up and i was just hoping against all odds that Dhinoo & Reema don't land up before the rest :D [ I had argued/fought with him to come in early, as early as 7pm to photograph everybody]

Wanting to kill some time and to get the party started, 3 of us decided to take our first vodka shots.. and it wasn't a bad idea.. by the time the first lot came in we were ahead by 3 shots each..

By 7.30pm people stated to strut in slowly and am sure were very happy to see the 2 hosts already "very" happy, jovial and warm.. :D

An hour later the Guests of "the day", Vijay and Bala arrived only to see that most of the crowd was already high "in spirits".

The party was now in full swing and after brief introductions, we decided to play our first round of playboy games.. We had an ice breaker round for everyone to loosen up and then the next game was entitled only for the Bride and Groom to be.

GAME ONE - The Groom(Vijay) was blind folded and was asked to kiss every cheek that was presented to him and guess which one among them was Bala's (Bride)... We made the poor man kiss all the ruff & scratchy faces we could get his lips to land on.. Surprisingly in the end he wasnt able to choose between two (Nirmal and Bala) HUUHAHAHAHA...

GAME TWO- The Bride, similar to the groom was blind folded and was made to run her fingers over the people brought in front of her.. To add a lil humor to the whole thing i made her touch everyone's butt instead..... HUUHAHAHAHAHA...

Running out of time, we decided to get to cutting of the ceremonial and the much anticipated cake on the day! [anticipation for Suren to know how i would like the cake, since he booked it in my absence :) ] And the ritual began....

After much scrubbing and cleaning up we finally sat down to eat with Suren running around like a mad man on fire. We were really late and the Club guys were pestering us to shut down fast. The time given to us was till 11pm and it was already 10.45pm and none of us had even started to eat :) ...

After filling our growling stomach's we decided to play our final game :D

GAME THREE - Vijay was stuffed with two balloons that looked like ------ [courtesy censorship] and Bala had to hug him real tight to burst it.. It was a good thing that we picked up some real good quality balloons.. They refused to burst. Bala, after much squeezing finally resorted to using her nails to burst it.. It was fun!!

It was a real FUN evening...got to meet some of my old friends ...Nancy,Simy,Ajay,Solomon,Marcus,Ashwin,Radhika, Philip, Hareesh and Vickram...friends i hadn't met in a long time. Love you guys and thanks for making it to my party...
